U.S. Involvement

Since America was afraid of the spread of communism they wanted to stop it at all cost. America after World War two split the Korean peninsula with the Soviet Union, the South would be under the U.S's watch with the North being under the Soviet Union's watch. The Soviet Union was communist and America's biggest rival, so the U.S wanted to get into the North and try to get them to see from another stand point other then communism. So when the North attacked the South the U.S took full advantage of that to bring it up at a U.N meeting so that they could vote on if the U.N would take action or not.
