The Koryo Dynasty

When the Silla Kingdom had weekend in 935, rebels defeated it  and founded the Koryo dynasty. This dynasty, named after the basis of the word Korea, lasted until 1392. The rulers of the Koryo dynasty continued to adopt Chinese ideas but also worked to maintain distinct Korean features. For instance, the Koryo adopted a civil service examination system similar to Cina's; in Korea, though, only nobles could take said test, and government positions were inherited.
