Pocahontas was in the Algonquian Tribe in the Tidewater region of Virginia. She was the daughter of Chief Powhatan also known as the Indian princess. She saved John Smith in 1607 from death. She married John Rolfe in January 1615. They had a son named Thomas Rolfe. Pocahontas's marriage to John Rolfe was the first record interracial marriage in american history. In 1616 the Rolfes traveled to London.Pocahontas was her nickname and it translated to "little wanton." She wore a leather mini-dress with one shoulder strap. She had a tattoo. She died in Gravesend, England. Pocahontas was a important person in american history.
