Reginald Punnett was born in England on June 20, 1875. He went to college at Cambridge and earned a degree in zoology. He then conducted experiments with his partner William Bateson on inheritance. They are both famous for creating the Journal of Genetics. Punnett created the Punnett Square while experimenting with chickens and sweet peas.
Gregor Mendel was born on July 20, 1822. He was an Austrian monk who discovered the main principles of heredity. He discovered this by experimenting with pea plants.
