Cast of Insidious
Dermot Mulroney (Sean Brenner) was chosen for Insidious 3 for his experience. Mulroney has been seen in over 70 films and is also a classically trained cellist who has played in orchestras for composers such as James Newton Howard and Michael Giacchino. Mulroney was chosen by the production company for his role in Insidious 3 due to his background in horror movies.
Stefanie Scott (Quinn Brenner) was chosen for the cast of Insidious 3 for her age and wisdom of acting. Scott was a former Disney channel star and although has not had much experience with major movies, she certainly making a name for herself. The production company set there eyes on Scott because of her young age and acting ability.
Quin Brenner, a young teenager, tries to reach out to her dead mother who died a year and a half ago. Little did she realize that when she called out to her mom, she also called out a far more malevolent supernatural entity. The gifted psychic Elise Rainier hesitantly agrees to help this young girl who has been grasped by this dangerous and malicious force.
Marketing of The Movie
- The target market of Insidious 3 is teenager to young adults. The movie's website has many unique aspects, but a distinct feature is that they have designed the website for viewers to see every photo associated with the film, including movie posters, promotions, and behind the scenes content. This is a great aspect for the target market because it allows them to know what's going on with the movie and see how it's being put together. Companies known to be co-branding with the movie are MPAA.org and Filmratings.com. Other movies coming out on June 5th are Entourage, Wild Horses, and Love & Mercy. Despite the fact that 3 other major movies are coming out at the same time, Insidious 3 is expected to get considerable hype as it is the only horror movie coming out. Overall, the website was put together very nicely. I think it would have been nice if they had put the cast of the movie on the website, but besides that, I really enjoyed their website. They included the essentials on the website, such as all the other forms of social media associated with the film.
Current Product Placement & Promotion
Currently at the moment, insidious 3 does not have any products. They do, however, have a poster, but other then that, there is nothing else to show.

Quinn's clothing- Quinn is shown wearing trendy clothes that appeal to the target audience, which is a great opportunity for brands such as Brandy Melville, H&M, and Forever 21
T-Mobile- Quinn's phone in a trailer is clearly depicted as a T-Mobile phone
The furniture in Quinn's room is trendy as well which may be sponsored by brands trying to sell more trendy furniture to teens such as Urban Outfitters.
An interactive option will soon be offered for those brave fans whom have always wanted to be a part of a virtual experience. Insidious Chapter 3, which comes out on June 5, will release a part haunted house - part virtual reality experience which will be touring around the country on specific dates. You can also partake in this experience in your own home through your Oculus Rift headset.
Celeb generate publicity for the movie (time/place)
There will be a celebrity apperence by Leigh Wannell, Lin Shaye, Stefanie Scott, and Dermot Mulroney. They will appear at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles, California. The celebs will be doing meet and greets and generating publicity for their movie.
- Advanced screenings of Insidious 3 will be held at AMC theater Tysons Corner on June 3rd, 2015 at 1:45am.
Incorporating Social Media
Insidious 3 has used social media by having kik for the movie and a snapchat where users can see parts filmed by the movie and the cast just having fun.
