Niccolo Machiavelli was born May 3rd 1469 during the renaissance era. He was a Florentine historian, politician, diplomat, philosopher, and writer. He was the founder of modern political science.

His Life

He was born in Florence, Italy. He was the third child of Bernardo Di Niccolo Machiavelli. The Machiavelli family is believed to be descended from the old marquesses of Tuscany and to have produced thirteen Florentine Gonfalonieres of Justice.

His Work

Machiavelli produced comedies, carnival songs, and poetry. One of his masterpieces was The Prince.

The Prince

The Prince is sometimes claimed to be one of the first works of modern philosophy, especially modern political philosophy, in which the effective truth is taken to be more important than any abstract ideal.

Influence On The World Today

Machiavelli's ideas carried on through political leaders throughout the modern west. His ideas also helped create the printing press.

One of the first printing presses

Machiavelli's work was inspiring to  different figures throughout the past too. For example the rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur "2pac".

Tupac was believed to use Machiavelli's idea of "killing oneself" to trick enemies. I say that with quotes because it is an idea of faking your own death to baffle enemies.
