Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889. He was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria. He died on April 30, 1945. He died in Berlin, Germany. His nickname was Der Führer which is German for the leader.
As a child Hitler was moody, lazy, and he had an unstable temper. When Hitler was just 19 his mother died from cancer. This took a big toll on Hitler because he was very close to his mother. At the age of 16 he left school to go on to live out his dream of being a painter. He then put in an application to Viennese Academy of Fine Arts. But he got rejected. Bittered by his rejection he spend five years in Vienna adopting an new outlook on life. This shaped his hatred for Jews and Marxists.
World War 1
In May 1913 he left Vienna for Munich. War broke out in August of 1914 and Hitler Joined the Sixteenth Bavarian Infantry Regiment. He served as a dispatch runner. He received an iron cross aka first class for his bravery. He stayed a lance corporal. He was temporarily blinded in November of 1918.
