Eyes of Dr. Eckleburg

The Eyes of Dr. Eckleburg symbolizes God's eyes and that he is watching. On page 159, Wilson began to talk to Michaelis about Myrtle. "I spoke to her , I told she might fool me but she couldn't fool God. I took her to the window and I said 'God knows what you've been doing, everything you've been doing. You may fool me but you can't fool God'".  When Wilson was talking to Myrtle, Myrtle had clear view of the Eyes of Dr.Eckleburg. The eyes were watching the affair go onto between Tom and Myrtle. So Myrtle might have made George believe she wasn't doing anything bad but Dr. Eckleburg's eyes knew what was going on. The Eyes of Dr. Eckleburg see everything, kind of lke God. He sees everything also.
