"DE ROGATIS - FIORITTO"
CAGNANO VARANO (FOGGIA), ITALY
CLASS: IV A L
I live in the Gargano area, in the province of Foggia, Apulia, southern Italy. The promontory of Gargano is well-known for its natural beauties, crystal-clear waters and for its National Park. The local villages are quite small but a huge number of tourists and vistors come here to spend their summer holidays every year.
I lived in Sannicandro Garganico (Foggia) up until the age of 17; then, I moved to Pescara, in the Abruzzi, to study Foreign Languages at "Gabriele D'Annunzio" University.
I won two public competitions to become a permanent English and Spanish teacher and came back to Sannicandro to teach in the local secondary school at the age of 26. Then, I won a competition to attend my PhD course in English studies, which I finished in 2010.
After four years spent teaching in Carpino (Foggia), I am currently working at the Liceo Linguistico "De Rogatis-Fioritto" in Cagnano Varano (Foggia). I drive to school everyday and am very fond of my students who are really motivated to learn.
I have got a fantastic family, and two younger sisters whose names are Patrizia and Rita. Patrizia is a lawyer while Rita is going to be a teacher of Italian and History. My mother, Anna, was a Latin and Ancient Greek teacher while my father, Matteo, has worked as a vice-secretary at the Town Hall of Sannicandro Garganico for thirty years.
I am very fond of my family and my friends!!
This is a Map showing the village where I teach (in Apulia, Southern Italy), Cagnano Varano, and also the nearby village (Sannicandro Garganico), where I live:
Here are some samples of videos I supervised while working for the CARIDIS Grundtvig project (about the retrieval of ancient jobs, trades and professions in Europe) in Carpino and Vico del Gargano (Foggia). They will also give you some information about some aspects of the local culture and craftsmanship:
This a song by Giovanni Allevi, one of my favourite Italian musicians; its title is "Aria":
Our area is famous for folk dances as well! This is a picture of students from the area dancing a "pizzica"!
A short video showing some of the most beautiful views of the Gargano coast
Here are some of the students from Cagnano Varano!
- TIME TO SAY GOODBYE... FOR NOW!
- I AM SURE THE "PHOTOBIOGRAPHY" E-TWINNING EXPERIENCE WILL BE UNFORGETTABLE FOR ALL OF US!!!
