Progression of Peonies at the Sidney's

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers.  Each spring they mark the time when the soil is warm enough to start planting and to uncover my roses.  Some of my peonies date back many decades to my grandmother's garden.  We have lovingly tranplanted them each time we have moved to a new house.  This spring there were very few ants on the peonie buds.  This permitted me to have a huge bouquet, ant-free, on our dinette table.
