I'm in love with you," he said quietly.

"Augustus," I said.

"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you. (Pg.153)

I honestly liked this part a lot. I thought it was cute that he didn't have a care in the world about telling her how he felt. Even if he knew she wasn't in love with him back he didn't care, he accepted her for her and i thought that was cute.

If you had not encountered the numinous,if you have not expierenced a nonrational encounter with the mysterium tremendum, then my work is not for you. I feel this part was very confusing, but It's something I'd like to understand.

"The world is not a wish-granting factory". (page 214) I feel like this quote is true. I do not believe wishes get granted. I believe people who do confuse their feelings with the truth, because they like the view of their imaginations. You can only be so clueless until you start to realize how the real world is.

" That's what I believe. I believe the universe wants to be noticed. I think the universe is improbably biased toward consciousness, that it rewards intelligence in part because the universe enjoys its elegance being observed." (Page 223) I think this quote is very true. I feel like this world rewards intelligence, and you have to work for things you want, people attention and we make up this world.

Mom: " Hazel, you deserve a life."

"That shut me up , although I failed to see how the attendance of support group met the definition of life." (Page 7) This part of the story reminded me of a movie a watched. The movie was called "cyber bully". She also had to attend support group and she did not want to, but her mom made her.

Overall this book is great, It's about life and lost. The book helps you understand what love is, well at least picture it. I did not expect to like this book but I did and the movie isn't as great in my opinion.
