Dear Mom and Dad,

Life here Acadia is very challenging. We began our settlement here with a Catholic Cathedral in the centre of our village. We have begun to clearing land along the ocean to use for farming but as you know that is very time consuming. Since we live along the water the soil is very moist and fertile. In some areas we must make damns or land berms to ensure the soil does not get water logged. We also use the water as a resource, for example  we have the ability to fish for both food and a trading product. Despite the challenges we are well and are building a life for ourselves here in Acadia.
