Core regions have a high level of development and industrialization. Core countries wield a strong, influential economy and better resources such as health care and education.

The core regions of the world are North America (excluding Mexico), most of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and small parts of Asia.

This is well worded and has a nice design to it. It sounds perfesional and uses proper vocabulary. The picture helps visualize where the core and periphery regions are.
