Medgar Evers

"You can kill a man but you can't kill an idea."

Medgar Evers was born on July 2,1925 in Decatur Mississippi.His parents were Jesse and James Evers. Every day he had to walk 12 miles to school.In 1943 Medgar served in World War 11. He was also one of the leaders in the Civil rights movement. Medgar got married on December 24, 1951 to Myrlie Beasley they had 3 children.later Medgar finished and graduated in 1952. He got a job as president of the Regional Council of Negro Leadership program. In 1954 Medgar Evers and his family bought a small farm. Medgar Evers got shot after giving a speech on June 12,1963.
