An Australian Interpretation of the documentary
Super size me a documentary about Morgan Spurlock's th day McDonalds high fat diet shows us how obesity is rapidly becoming a huge problem globally. From watching the documentary I have now become fully aware of how bad some foods really are for you. Australians are slowly becoming bigger and bigger due to bad eating habits.
There are now more than 1250 Subways, 845 Domino’s, 780 McDonald’s, 300 Hungry Jacks and 600 KFCs in Australia and New Zealand. From an Australian point of view I think that we as a country should watch what we eat and be cautious of the nutritional value of certain foods. The Australian government should produce advertisements to show people how the food they eat is effecting their bodies and how they can overcome these bad food habits. I personally think that we need to reduce the amount of fast food advertising around our country to help reduce the amount of obese citizens. three in five Australian adults are overweight or obese, that's 12 million adults in Australians population of about 24 million. Obesity and overweight is only beaten by smoking and high blood pressure as a contributor to the burden of disease.
