Student work Ireland- Top 10 part time jobs Ireland

So yes, Students in Ireland do get a bit of a raw deal when it comes to finding work while in full time education be in primary, secondary or third level.

I am not going to write one of these spam articles proclaiming that I have the solution to this issue for Irish Students but I will propose one way in which a large portion of you can make a nice little bit of cash from tipping away at some work in their spare time.

I have spend several long tedious hours reading through various articles about what the best job is for us students and I have personally completed a hell of a lot of online jobs myself

  • 1. Social Media marketing
  • 2. Proofreading
  • 3. Virtual assistant
  • 4. Leaflets
  • 5. Web development
  • 6. Translation
  • 7. Presentations
  • 8. Speaking in an Irish accent
  • 9. Health and Fitness
  • 10. Data Entry
  • 1. Social media marketing

This basically consists of keeping a business’sfacebook, twitter and perhaps linked in pages up to date daily. This could take 5 minutes out of your day and believe me people pay good money to make sure that someone can keep their social media up to date. That reminds me- I could do with one of you for my very own business Facebook and twitter pages lol!

  • 2. Proofreading
  • Exactly what it says on the tin. If you are an English student or a law student who loves reading and critiquing peoples work then this could be your first step to becoming a highly sophisticated solicitor or teacher. You would be surprised by the amount of people who need people to read over their presentations, business plans, business proposals etc. All you need to do at Anybrief.com is Post exactly how many pages you are willing to proofread eg 5 pages for 5 euros and then go ahead and post your job and watch the customers roll in
  • 3. Virtual assistant
  • This job position would require for you to complete relatively simple tasks from the comfort of your own home. Grab a tub of ben and jerries’, sit yourself up on that couch and carry out these simple secretarial duties- simple jobs like converting from a pdf file to a word file , sending a few emails( you can offer to these jobs and quote whatever price you think people would pay!). I’m sure you get the drift- these are simple tasks which can easily be done from the comfort of your own home- You might have to eat the bullet in terms of payment but with this kind of task you won’t have to worry about losing any sleep!
  • 4. Handing out leaflets around your community
  • Anyone can do this but you would be very surprised how in demand students are for doing this sort of simple work. Simple as this: businesses around Ireland or the world will send you the template for these leaflets/flyers to be printed, you print them and hand them out to some random people and get paid. It would be a nice little job to do while walking on your way into college or at a weekend when your hanging out with your friends in town to hand out a few leaflets and get yourself a new football or a dress or something.
  • 5. Web development
  • Over the internet it is very difficult to find someone cheap, cheerful and above all local for web development. Let me put it this way for you- 97% of businesses registered in Ireland have their own designated websites- yes there are a large portion of them will pay some of the large companies serious sums of money but then there are the select few who just simply cannot afford to do it. Even if you have the simple skills of HTML and CSS you could easily earn 20 euro for an hours work. Can you fix 5 lines of code or can you develop an entire website or mobile app from scratch? Get onto Anybrief and post what you can do.
  • 6. Translation
  • Yes I know this seems mad to think that translators are in huge demand with the likes of google translate out there. Google translate is designed for translating a word or two and not necessarily a sentence. I spoke with one student on Anybrief.com who said that he previously earned 20 cent per word that he translated into Irish (Some American guy was getting a tattoo and wanted my buddy to translate it from English to Irish for him) Translating to French, Spanish and other languages are also in large demand so even if you learnt Latin in school I am sure there will be an job for you.
  • 7. Presentations
  • Many business people and even college students are sometimes too busy/lazy to put together a good looking presentation that perfectly depicts what they are trying to get across. In many occasions it is far too difficult to outsource to foreign countries with English not being their first language and all that. For this very reason students are in huge demand for these tasks- business presentations, scholarship presentations etc. In many cases the content will already be available, all you will need to do is put it into a nice format in powerpoint.
  • 8. Speaking in an Irish accent
  • Yes, the truth is that foreign people love the Irish accent. I have a friend from Belfast who used to earn over 15 euro for talking in an Irish accent for 15 minutes for some ad over in the states. In some occasions they will provide you a script and you will read it in Irish accent, you would be surprised the things people would require an Irish accent for! I have even been lead to believe that people would pay to hear a Kerry accent!!
  • 9. Health and Fitness
  • Do you go to the gym? Eat well? Then you could offer your advice to the people out there who are trying to get to the level you are at. This is such a simple task but it can help some people out hugely. Even the simple task of telling people about some of the healthy meals that you eat can help people out enormously or telling them about some cools spots to go for a run in your county. You can use your imagination and I am sure you can provide people with some great advice that they are willing to pay money for.
  • 10. Data Entry
  • Last but not least is data entry, you will be employed to enter or update data into a computer system database. Usually from a paper document to excel or Microsoft word. The quicker you are at typing the more money you will make. Post all your data entry jobs on Anybrief as soon as possible because with the growing number of people joining the platform the competition is become greater.
  • All in all, there are several platforms where you can find these jobs. I am currently involved in working with a website called Anybrief.com, this is an Irish business and they provide an excellent service (100% free to post any job at all), they have around the clock support if you have any questions or queries they will help you out with all of this.
  • Best of luck with your studies and up the rebels
