MaKey MaKey Drums

What is it?

I made drums that are controlled by touching Play-Doh. When the Play-Doh is touches it plays drum sounds. There is a video below in which I demonstrate how the drums work.

Why did you make it?

I made my drums so I could get to know MaKey MaKey. I was looking at what other people made with MaKey MaKey and I saw that many people created things involving music. I like the idea of music very much. I decided to create drums because I play the drums and I had fun playing around with the drums on Scratch.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

I faced multiple projects throughout the process of making my drums. When I started I made my drums on Scratch. I used a few drum sounds along with a goose sound. It worked well, but I wanted more sounds. I decided to use a program called Soundplant. Soundplant was not working at first because I was using an old program. I then downloaded the newest version. I also downloaded a bunch of drum sounds for the program. I used my favorite drums for the MaKey MaKey drums. I also downloaded the goose sound from Scratch to use for my drums.

What did you like/dislike about the project?

I did not dislike much about my project. I did not like how I only used a few drums, and I also did not like how I only used one goose sound. While my project could have been better, there was not much I disliked.

What would you do differently?

If I could do something differently I would have added more sounds for my drums. I might add a ride cymbal, a crash cymbal , and maybe another goose sound. for the most part I an very happy with my project and there is not a lot I would change.
