What technical knowledge might you need to work in the IT industry.
To gain a job in the technology workforce there are allot of key aspects to you need and to succeed in the general work area. nowadays being able to use email is now a basic skill you also need to have communication skills too. Also having a positive attitude is important because you will be communicating with other people constantly. You will also need to be able to use basic Microsoft and fireworks skills.
If you wanted to be a social media strategist for example, you will need basic skills to surf the web, and edit websites. you will also need to research which websites are currently trending and how to develop them. Also if you wanted to be a app designer you would need similar skills and more, you would need a larger range of software skills and a large knowledge of working with code.
Health and Safety if you are constantly working at a computer all day it can be dangerous and have serious effects, being stuck in chair all day can give you back, neck and leg pain this is why every so often you should stand up and stretch, have a good walk around the room. You should every so often have a break as your eyes will get dry and tired. Finally loose wires are a constant problem in the work office, ensure any loose wires are tucked away immediately after being seen many people every year injure themselves from tripping and falling over from loose wires.
Maths in IT is a basic skill that will be needed if you wish to gain a job in the IT industry. You will need to be able to work out basic percentages, formulas and equations. You will also need to have a basic understanding of how to use Ed Excel. You will also need to have a creative mind and be able to make basic advertising posters to attract a variety of different people.
In the IT industry you will need to be organised and have good planning skills. You will have deadlines that you will need and you will have meetings you will need to attend on time if you don't want to lose your job. You will also need to be social with your fellow workers, you may have team building days you will need to help each other to succeed.
Lastly, you will need to be determined, willing and self motivated to work in IT, you will need to have all the correct attitudes just like any job, but with IT you need to be very confident in these skills to ensure you don't fall behind on your work load.
