Little Italy is located in the Near West Side around Halsted and Taylor street. Some attractions are the food such as pasta, the Columbus statue, and the Pompeii Bakery. The history of little Italy is the Italians settled in this area the Italians quickly established their own cultural, social and religious places such as Our Lady of Pomeii and theHoly Angel Roman Catholic Churches. While Italians were never actually a majority in th area, they made most culture Italian in that area. Little Italy is about 50% white, 20% African American, and 20% Asain. A fun fact is that in the heart of Italy there is a 2 day Pasta Vino celebration in June.
