In 1940, the year Lennon was born, Germany had sent an bombing attack on England, John's father, Alfred, had left to serve while Julia, John's mother, was in pregnancy. Upon returning home, when John was five, found that Julia had fallen in love with a waiter and was even pregnant by him.  He later left John and Julia.
