Assignment #3 book connections
My person Molly Miller creates hope by focusing on wisdom because she believes that it's something she can offer for the younger members in her community. She also gives out hugs to her community when she has the time to. She believes that doing that will heal her community. Also by being the clan mother that's a hope, that she's a clan mother to her community to guide to lead them.
Five connections that Molly has with the book is that the schools that Molly tells us are like Junior's, the Indian boarding schools were taking away Native ways. And that was something similar to what Mr.P was trying to do.
Junior and them they have a pow wow chicken fight and so does Molly.
Junior is broken hearted by so many of his relatives passing away especially his family members his sister and grandma. Molly dealt with losing a close family memeber, her own son.
Junior felt hurt and anger by how Mr.P use to hit the Indians and take away their traditions. In Molly's story tells her how she feels and how other Indians felt about the boarding schools and that they were trying to take the Indian out of them, they felt angry and hurt.
