Horses in the
American Revolution

Horses are not only good for working but are a great companion. Somebody who was a big horse lover was George Washington. During the revolution his two favorite horses were Nelson and Blueskin. Some of the others were: Samson, Steady and, Traveler.

GEORGE WASHINGTON

Horses actually helped a lot in war. They carried supplies for the soldiers and also provided transportation for them. Instead of walking the long distances the soldiers would ride their horses.
