Hello! Are you tired of many of the other countries around us exploring the New World while we wait around? Do you want to send an explorer to the New World to explore, claim land, and bring back useful resources? If you send me, then I will bring you back useful resources and many more! Do you like fish, fur, and sugar? Done! We can bring you back those things. I choose to search for new food resources also, because it could help our country grow in the trading industry.
When would we go?
I plan to go to the New World in 1535, which is this year. I am exploring for the French king, Francis I; even though I am a Spanish explorer.
What would happen if we encountered Native Americans or other Europeans?
If we encounter other Europeans, we will kindly avoid them. If they try to harm us, then we will harm them. If we run into Native people, we will trade with them, to them we will give food, and to us they will show us how to survive where they live.
What obsticles do we plan to encounter?
We will probably run into hostile Natives, and we will fight them. If we run out of food, then we shall find food of our own. We will send a ship back to France to get more food supplies.
What other countries are exploring at the same time we are, and what are they looking for?
In 1492, Christopher Columbus explored for the Spain. He was looking for a trading route to Asia, which would get him many resources.
I chose to explore Virginia, because most French explorers have explored north of Virginia (todays Montreal). The reason I would like to explore there is because there are many colonization opportunities. There are also many new food resources.
