Unit 1 Project "Full Stop Ahead"
a. Why do you think the estimates of speed do not double when the skid marks double in length?
Skid mark length double but speed doesn't because of how long they may have pressed the brakes and the conditions of the road.
b. Based on the results, what condition can you make about safe distances between cars?
You must keep your distance between cars because if not it could end in a serious accident if theres not enough stopping distance.
If a person's traveling distance is 150 feet on dry road, the maximum speed to safe stopping distance is 47.2 feet.
