My name is Bojidar Boykov and if I make it to Mexico then I will bring back spices, Aztec chocolate for the royalty and even possibly gold!
I will need three ships and a crew of around 70 people per ship.
If I run in to any of the English, Spanish or Native Americans I shall bring out some armed men and ask "Would you like to trade?". If this does not work then I will bring out some more armed men and ask the question again. If they choose to fight then I will bring out all of my armed men and let them have their way. They will be completely outnumbered and either get defeated in a fight or surrender. That is why I ask for so many people for the crew.
Some obstacles that I could run in to are sicknesses, pirates, storms and lack of resources. The way I will overcome these obstacles are, keeping a separate room for sick people and getting one doctor for each ship, using my humongous number of armed men to face the pirates, staying away from the stormy parts of sea and giving each man just enough resources to survive.
To get to Mexico I will set sail in April, 1609. First I will sail up the Seine river from Paris, go southwest once I reach the Atlantic Ocean. When I am in the center of the ocean I will head east to the Caribbean Sea then go northwest to the gulf of Mexico and finally east to Mexico.
I will need enough money for rope, food, a crew, three large ships, weapons, a few shovels and fresh drinking water. I ask you King Louis XIII to support my expedition to Mexico.
