Translations: A translation or sliding motions, determined by distance and direction.

Horizontal Translations are translations that are translated on the x-axis either left or right.

Vertical Translations are translations that are moved across the y-axis either up or down.

Oblique Translations are translations moved diagonally either way.

Rotations: A rotation, or turning motion, is determined by a point called the center of the rotation. Rotations about the origin have similar coordinate models.

Reflections: A line reflection is determined by a "mirror line." A point on the line of reflection is its own image.

Dilation: You start with a rule relating coordinates of any preimage and its image. Dilations are taking one image and making it bigger, smaller, wider,or taller.
