-During the 18th and 19th centuries there were hundreds of utopian societies on American soil.
-The western idea of utopia originates in the ancient world, where legends of an earthly paradise lost to history.
-The 19th-century utopian sects can trace their roots back to the Protestant Reformation.
-Hundreds of such societies littered the U.S. landscape during the 1800s
- The opposite is Utopia is Dystopia. Dystopia is an imagined place where things are bad and unsuccessful. An example for that is kinda like The Hunger Games. Dystopia in The Hunger Games is where the government has complete control over you and and everything you do. The government makes you participate in cruel and unnatural things. As Utopia is a perfect place with no poverty or struggling to have the things you desire.
- Some of the earliest Christians considered themselves to be apart of a Utopian community.
