The Great depression

The Great Depression was a world wide economic depression in the 1930's. It went across many nations but however in most counties it started in 1929 and ended in the late 1930's. It was the longest,deepest and widespread depression in the 20th century. It had a devastating effect in countries rich and poor, personal income, profits and prices dropped even the international trade went down by more then 50%. Unemployment in the U.S rose about 25% and some counties rose as high as 33%. Cites all over were hit hard, more so the one who depended on heavy industry.

Colleges in the 1930's

In Penn State University the cost of tuition was $400,which include the Generals Fee, the room and board was $520, most of there text-books were $35. The mascot was Nittany the Lion. Gas was 10 cents per gallon, the average cost of a car was $640.00 also the average income was $1,970.00. A major difference between college in the 1930's and now is most black women wouldn't be allowed to go past the 8th grade.

Broadway Show

The first showing of Mama Mia was on April 6, 1999. The cost of Premium tickets are $306.45. Over 4,700 performances have been shown and its the tenth longest-running show on Broadway and has been seen by over 50 million people world wide.
