The setting of Gandhi  the march to the sea is India because the text says''Gandhi thought that solving problems with violence was wrong. It was also wrong,he believed, for his country, India to be ruled by the Great British.'' India was a horrible place to be in back then because the British ruled India and made laws way to unfair, so that the British could make a fortune. Also what the British did, was the Indians had to pay money to get salt to put on food, so the British raised high prices on it and high taxes. So the Indians were  so poor and had hardly any money. Gandhi wanted to be free from the British so bad and so did his country, India.

This is what India looks like
