The Federalist #10

"A Republican remedy for the diseases most incident to republican government."

I choose the song the "New Divide", by Linkin Park because if its lyrics:

Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide

There was nothing in sight but memories left abandoned
There was nowhere to hide, the ashes fell like snow
And the ground caved in between where we were standing

There are and will probably always be two predominant factions, like Republicans and the Democrats. In the Zinn reading, Washington and Adams both agreed "on the aims of this new government they were establishing. They were anticipating the long-fundamental agreement of the two political parties in the American system."  With that said, we, the people with varying viewpoints must connect the space between and reach a compromise, by seeing each others perspectives. Then, we must remember that we are a republic, and in "controlling the effects of a faction, is enjoyed by a large over a small republic -is enjoyed by the strong central government over the states composing the Union." By coming to together with a someone in the middle (hence the photo, a monkey in the middle of two people) acting as a mediator, telling both parties to see the other perspectives before having a rebuttal about how much better their own idea is. This way the two parties can look at the trees from the forest and the look at the trees from the hills. Finally, coming to a compromise about how to deal with the situation or certain circumstance.
