BIOGRAFY: EADWEARD MUYBRIDGE, (KINGSTON UPON THAMES, ON APRIL 9, 1830 - IBIDEM., MAY 8, 1904) WAS A PHOTOGRAPHER AND BRITISH RESEARCHER.

HE CHANGED HIS NAME WHEN HE EMIGRATED TO THE UNITED STATES IN 1851. HIS EXPERIMENTS ON THE CHRONOPHOTOGRAPHY SERVED AS THE BASIS FOR THE LATER INVENTION OF THE CINEMATOGRAPH.

IN THE SUMMER OF 1878, A RESULTING SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS SHOWING CLEARLY ALL MOVEMENTS OF A RACING MARE. MUYBRIDGE PAINTED THE NEGATIVES SO THAT ONLY SEE THE SILHOUETTE OF THE MARE, WHOSE LEGS TAKING POSITIONS UNTHINKABLE. THE RESULT WAS A SEQUENCE OF 12 PHOTOGRAPHS HELD APPROXIMATELY IN HALF A SECOND.
