Equilibrium is a state in which opposing forces or influences are balanced.

In Gymnastics you need to have balance in order to score well. For example when you are performing on the beam, pretend one leg is supply and the other one is demand. Both legs have to distribute an even amount of weight or the gymnast would fall off.

Another example of equilibrium is when a donut shop makes 5 dozen of donuts a day and sells all of them during that day. It makes supply and demand equal.
