After World War I, people were afraid that communists would gain power, as they were having success for the first time.

Bombs were set off in 8 different locations

Efforts to prevent were mainly from A. Palmer, Victor Bergen, and J Edgar Hoover

Seized about 600 Residents and shipped them on the Buford to Soviet Russia
