National Museum of American History
This museum was founded in the early nineteeth century thanks to the legacy of British scientist James Smithson. This museum was first named the National Museum, but during the growth of this museum, the Smithsonian decided to create a spin-off of this museum and made it into two museums: The National Museum of Natural History and The National Museum of American History.
In the photo above, there are some of the most common items at the National Museum of American History. The items in order from left to right: The Ruby Red Slippers from the famous movie The Wizard of Oz, Kermit the Frog, the first Model T to be made, George Washington's dentures, Of course the one and only National Museum of American History, the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner that is now our national anthem, the boxing gloves of Muhammad Ali, Alexander Graham Bell's large box telephone, and finally, Abe LIncoln's Hat. He wore the night he was assassinated in Ford's Theater.
