How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas lights with a burned out bulb?

IV: Series and Parallel Circuit

DV: Strand of Christmas Lights

If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit then when one bulb bursts (or removed) the other bulbs will light up.

All three bulbs are connected to the battery and all of them light up.

The two light bulbs were still working even though I removed one.

If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit then when one bulb bursts the other bulbs will not light up.

The series circuit is complete and all of the light bulbs are working.

When I removed one of the light bulbs the other two light bulbs stopped working.

A parallel circuit is the best series to use for Christmas lights because when one bulb bursts the rest stay lit.
