My Favorite Season
By: Lauren Barnett
Whenever it is this time of year I see beautiful trees covered in colors such as red, yellow, brown, and orange. I also see families gathering around a big table for a big feast with turkey and rolls and stuffing. When I drive around I see people picking out the ripest apples at an apple orchards and kids picking out the biggest pumpkins at a pumpkin patch.
In the morning when I walk outside it smells very earthy and fresh. I also smell all of the foods that are cooking in my neighbor's houses. I smell chili and turkey, rolls, and stuffing, warm soup, grilled cheese, and a whiff of pumpkin pie.
When I sit outside and close my eyes I listen to the sounds around me. I can hear the crinkling sounds of the leaves when they get raked up into a big pile. I hear kids scream as they jump into the big pile of leaves then get buried under them. On the 31 I hear kids walking down the street laughing at each others costumes.
Around this time of year my appetite changes just a little. I love having that one big feast where my entire family gathers around the dinner table. I especially love how all the different foods and taste while they are in my mouth. I taste turkey and rolls, stuffing, chili, and pumpkin pie.
I especially love how the season makes me feel loved because of all the time I get to spend with my family. We spend Thanksgiving dinner together, and carve pumpkins together. My favorite thing that we do together is go trick or treating together. I love how we walk down the street and stop at all of our neighbors houses.
In conclusion I just wanted to tell you how much I love this season. Do you know what season it is? I hope you do. But if you don’t know what it is then i’ll just tell you. My favorite season is fall. I hope it is one of your favorite seasons too.
