Facts About Lakes

Lakes are like small oceans, but they are freshwater not saltwater. They are a place to store water. Some lakes are made naturally or some lakes are man made. Some lakes can be as small as a soccer field, bigger than a city, and as large as a state. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD ABOUT THE GREAT LAKES? WELL THEY HOLD MOST OF THE FRSHWATER FOUND IN THE COUNTRY! When  we build or control a lake to give water to a city or town it is called a reservoir. Lakes are habitats to different types of fish and plants. COOL FACT: When water freezes in lake, ice floats so there is still water below it, so all the animals are OK.
