Josip Broz Tito was the Prime Minister and President of Yugoslavia from 1945 until his death in 1980.

How He Became President:
During the war, Josip had commanded troops that had defeated the Axis troops. In 1945 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was made. He was made the Prime Minister in 1945 until 1953 when he became President. In 1963 he was named President for life. He remained the president of Yugoslavia until his death in 1980.
Style of Government:
Before becoming President, Josip was part of a communist organization. He believed in communism, but in a new form called Titoism. Titoism: Communism with free market forces, consumerism, and freedom of the people. Communism was his goal for Yugoslavia. He didn't want to be a communist leader like Lenin, Stalin, or Khrushchev, he didn't want to the power to do that to him. Josip didn't want his people to suffer for a better life with communism.
Domestic Priorities: He wanted communism for his people, but not like Stalin or Lenin. He wanted his people to have a different life.
Josip Broz is best known for being the Prime Minister/President of Yugoslavia
CURRENT EVENT: In 1928 Josip was arrested for bombs being found in his apartment. He was sentanced five years. He was realised in 1934.
