From Gavin Witt, Associate Artistic Director/Director of Dramaturgy

Dramaturgy welcomed Laura Hawes, a Sarah Lawrence-bound recent graduate of Brynn Mawr, as a summer intern. Over the summer, Laura has been doing preliminary research for Amadeus. Joining Laura this week is Sarah Cohen, a Yale-bound student who has been helping to prep Next to Normal.

Artistic & Dramaturgy Fellow Cat Rodríguez recently learned that La danza círcular de María, a new play she dramaturged for Borderlands Theater (Tucson, AZ) and El Círculo Teatral (México, D.F.), has been selected for inclusion in the 2014 LATC Encuentro: A National Latina/o Theatre Festival.

Last week, another of our new play commissions -- Xs and Os by KJ Sanchez (ReEntry) – just received a workshop and public reading as part of the Ground Floor series at Berkeley Rep, which has committed to producing it next season. The piece, a co-commission by Center Stage and Berkeley Rep, was first developed in Play Lab here this past winter.
