The Great Depression
The great depression, also called the dirty thirty's, caused many people to lose their jobs all over the country. Many people lost all of their life savings due to banks closing. The unemployment rate was at an all time low with millions without a job all across America.
The tuition was $400, the room and board was $520, books were $35 each. A Quaker is the mascot for the university. the major differences from then and today are the cost of the tuition and the amount of courses available.
the cost of gas was $0.10 a gallon and the average cost of a new car was $640.00. The cost of potatoes was $0.18 per 10lbs, bacon was $0.38 per lb, and chanel catfish was $0.28 per lb.
