Do you have access to proper financial good and services? If you do? Are you sure you’re not paying more for your financial good and services?
The current uproar in our inner cities are also directly related to not having proper access to proper financial goods and services.
- Auto Loans
- Home Purchase
Addressing proper financial goods and services, is the largest piece of this puzzle. The financial piece reaches all walks of life.
Here’s a Snapshot of what the CFPB in relation to financial products and services uncovered plaguing our Service members, Veterans and their Families. The CFPB released their third Snapshot of Complaints Received from Servicemembers, Veterans and their Families. The report details the data and trends from consumer complaints they have received from members of the military community since July 2011.
Here are just a few highlights:
- Debt collection complaints have continued to rise since our last report, and now make up 39 percent of total complaints. It is our largest category of complaints from the military community.
- Credit reporting remains a top category of concern. 72 percent of these complaints are about incorrect information on credit reports. This remains a significant issue for the military community, one that we highlighted earlier this year.
- Student loans are another concern. 49 percent of these complaints are about problems dealing with a lender or services. In these complaints, CFPB continues to see long-standing trends, such as service members complaining about not being provided their Servicemembers Civil Relief Actrights.
In this economy, credit is more important than ever before. Your credit might have qualified you for a mortgage years ago may not merit an auto loan today. Good credit may also save you hundreds of dollars per month; thousands of dollars per year on your mortgage, car payments or insurance. Good credit can also position you for great employment opportunities.
The report also highlights the outreach efforts which allows the CFPB the opportunity to connect with thousands of members of the military community, as well as allowing enforcement actions that recovered millions of dollars for affected consumers, primarily service members, veterans, and their families.
The CFPB has its challenges! They need our help!
It’s of the utmost important, we as individual do our part in reviewing, addressing, correcting and resolving whichever obstacles, which lie in our path. Preventing you and yours from essentials, employment, banking, proper financial products and services.
If you don’t have access to proper financial products and services due to industries circumventing or ignoring laws. This only creates further erosion of our military and civilian structure.
