Student Voice

Superintendent's Student Advisory Counsil

Probably the thing I look forward to the most each month is getting to meet with our Student Advisory Council at Royse City High School. This group is made up of two students from each grade level who have been identified by their teachers and administrators as really solid, leadership students.

I'll say it this way. I've worked with students for my entire adult life and this is by far, collectively, the sharpest group of students I've ever been able to learn beside. They are smart, articulate, thoughtful, and inspiring. They are driven, focused, and passionate. They are not only good students but they are actively involved in band, sports, their local churches, and our community.

In February I will be presenting a session at TCEA on "The Power of Student Voice" and I have invited this group of #WorldChangers to come and serve as a panel. We will be discussing why the most important voice in our educational community (the students') is the most overlooked and unheard voice. So, if you're going to be at #TCEA15 plan on attending this session on Thursday, February 5th at noon.
