The month of April is Autism Awareness month where people/businesses wear blue or light their buildings blue. Puzzle pieces and other symbols are used as well to represent #Autism. Awareness isn't enough.
"Awareness is resultant from knowledge. Knowledge can only occur through interaction with individuals and families on the spectrum and educating the public at large. People tend to fear the unknown do to lack of understanding. Through education and interactions fear is diminished and a level acceptance is created." -Mari Nosal
I personally don't represent my son with puzzle pieces, he along with all kids, are their own puzzle.
