About Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that start off in one or both lungs.
Some are coughing, pain in the chest, shoulder,back,change in color, shortness of breath,changes in voice,harsh sounds.
The biggest cause is smoking tobacco. Radon gas (an invisible, odorless gas that can travel through the soil and come into houses through cracks in the foundation) and familial predisposition in which your family history makes it more likely that you will develop lung cancer.
Stages of Lung Cancer
Stage 1 cancer is only in lungs.
Stage 2 cancer is in lungs and lymph nodes.
Stage 3 Cancer is in the middle of the chest.
Stage 4 It spreads in the liver, or other organs, fluids fill in the area around the lungs.
Chemotherapy is a drug that slows or stops the growth of cancer cells. Radiotherapy is that it is a laser. It usually involves a machine called a linear accelerator. It kills the cells. Surgery- the cancer cells or tumor will be removed surgically.
Stage 1- 49%, Stage 2- 30%, Stage 3- 14%, Stage 4- 1%
You have a higher survival rate if your cancer is in remission. Remission means that the cancer has shrunk, stopped growing, or completely disappeared. You are never cured of cancer, but your cancer can be in remission forever
