Improvement

The word that best describes industrial revolution is improvement because of the many things that were developed during this time helped the improvement of our world immensely. Some of the many things that have been developed between the time period of 1870-1910 that has been improved is the high school graduates, infant mortality rate, telephone usage, and GNP. The high school graduates rate has gone from 2% in 1870, to 9% in 1910. This improvement shows how we are improving in education and as it gets better our youth are getting smarter and more educated for their work in the future. Along with the high school graduates rate the infant mortality rate has gone down from 170 infants in 1870, to 117 infants in 1910. This shows that our sanitation and ways of living are keeping infants alive longer and helping them stay healthy. Telephone usage has also improved from 0 people out of every 1000 people had a telephone in 1870, but in 1910 82 out of 1000 people had a telephone. This information shows that along with other things the people are advancing and more are now able to communicate over longer distances which is a big improvement. The last thing that we will look at that has improved is the GNP, which was at $531 in 1870. In 1910 the GNP was $1299, this shows that people are making more money and have well paying jobs; this also goes to show that our economy is improving also.
