New Technolgy in the Civil War

Civil war technology led historians to call the civil war the first modern war because of the army of new technology with which it was fought. The technologies that did not specifically have to do with the war but still had an impact was the railroad this changed people's life and the war
The bullet revolutionized warfare because of its increased range and the havoc it wrecked on the human body which field surgeons struggled to remedy.
Later on carbine rifles came into use allowing soldiers to fire to fire 6 or 7 rounds before reloading
