Rudyard Kipling

His full name is Joseph Rudyard Kipling. Kipling lived in Vermont. He also wrote the jungle book in 1894. His daughter died at the age of six with pneumonia. Lastly, his father was named John Lockwood Kipling.

Some internal conflicts from this story include fear from chuchundra, who will win the battles between the cobras and mongooses, and Nagaina's fear of life without Nag.

Mongoose facts

Mongooses (the plural of mongoose is in fact mongooses) usually have brown or grey fur, and some species have striped coats. These creatures live in burrows around Africa and parts of southern Asia. These are terrestrial animals, but some are semi-aquatic and others prefer to live in tree tops. Lastly, they are famously known for attacking venomous snakes.


Cobras can reach up to eighteen feet long! This is the only snake in the world that builds nests for it's eggs. These reptiles can live up to twenty years old. Lastly, believe it or not, synthetic cobra venom is used in pain medication!
