Standing Out Current Event

Analysis:

This young, courageous girl's name is Malala. Her story resembles that of the man in "The Pedestrian" because they both stand out against the social norm and speak out to society in what they believe in. The pedestrian decides to ignore the social behavior of society and does things that aren't expected of people from their time period, like disregarding the immense dependence on technology, and he decides to view nature through his own eyes instead. In Malala's society, the people always allow the Taliban to get what they want, but she chooses otherwise and speaks up against the Taliban for what she believes is right, and clearly she has a powerful impact on others to do what they believe in.
