The history behind screw drivers

The earliest documented screwdrivers were used in Europe in the late Middle Ages. They were probably invented in the late 15th century, either in Germany or France, No official documents i could find say specifically.

How the screwdriver is made

The shaft is usually made of tough steel to resist bending or twisting. After the base of the screwdriver is made (The metal bit) they stick the metal part in hot plastic to let it cool forming the grip on it and there you go.

What are the materials used to make the tool

Usually it is made of a resistant metal such as steel or iron so it i resistant to twisting and bending. The grip is made of simple materials such as a normal plastic or an iron grip with a rubber coat over it.
