Putu Dela Apsari

Hello! My name is Putu Dela Apsari. I am 11 years old and in fifth grade. I live in Bali, Indonesia, with my parents, my younger sister, Komang, our dog, Blackie, and our other pets.

Three daily events before noon (12:00 p.m) in Indonesia.

7:45 A.M        Before school starts, my friends and I sometimes go for a walk in the rice fields. We also sweep the playground to make the yard look neat. We play badminton and do exercises before classes begin.

7:00 A.M.         When we have time, I love to play gamelan, a traditional Balinese music, with my dad. It takes a lot of practice.

Things in School

10:00 A.M.          We study reading, writing, math and science.

Three daily events between noon(12:00 p.m) and 5:00 p.m in Indonesia.

1:00 P.M.          My sister and I try to nap for a few hours in the middle of the day. It's too hot even to think about doing anything outside

Working  to Become a Balinese Dancer

2:00 P.M.           I want to be a Balinese dancer when I grow up, so I work hard at my dance classes. My teacher was a great dancer when she was young, and I try to learn from her.

Watching TV at Home

3:00 P.M.         Our dad picks up my sister and me from dance class. Once we get back to our home, we watch TV and play with Blackie. My mother makes us a cool drink and a snack.

Three daily events before noon(12:00 p.m.) in Indiana

Riding the Bus to School

7:45 A.M.        I am getting on the bus to go to school. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to arrive at school.

Getting Ready For School

7:00 A.M.      Getting ready for school means you have to get up and get dressed, brush your teeth, brush your hair, get socks on, get shoes on, and then eat breakfast if you have time to. Then you get your book bag and you are ready to go.

Studying in School

In school we study social studies, language arts, math, science, and reading. We don' t use books for school; we use Chromebooks for school.

Three daily events between noon (12:00 p.m.) and 5:00 p.m.

Eat Lunch at School

Everyday at school we eat lunch. There are two different things you can pick. You have to pay for your own lunch.

Watching TV at Home

Watching TV is something we like to do when we are bored or just want to watch TV. You can learn a lot of thing on TV. Watching TV is entertaining for you, but bad for your eyes to watch it too long.

Play Games Outside

We play a lot of games outside like soccer, kickball, hide-n-seek, tag, and baseball. Playing games is a good way to earn exercise.

There is two things that are similar  between the daily routine of the student in Southeast Asia and my daily routine. Watching TV at home is one of the things that are similar. The other thing that is similar is studying things in school like math, English, history, and reading. There are many things that are different. We don't play Gamelan music, but we play with instruments. It is not that hot here as in Southeast Asia.
